Due to the rain on Thursday evening several matches had to be postponed to Friday, which traditionally is the quarter-finals day at the Libéma Open. It is going to be a very busy day in Rosmalen.

The full programme starts in the morning with some second round matches which were postponed on Thursday. This will be, among others, the confrontation between Kiki Bertens and Kirsten Flipkens, who will open on centre court at 11 am. They also met last month in Nürnberg where Flipkens won on clay. The winner of this match will later play on court 1 in the quarter-final. At the end of the day Bertens and Flipkens will play together in the doubles tournament.

Several players are scheduled to play at least two matches today. For instance, Belgium’s title contender Elise Mertens who might have to play two singles and one doubles match (with Demi Schuurs). But first, Mertens has to finish her suspended match, 2-2, against the German qualifier Antonia Lottner.

The schedule is so full that you could overlook the match of two-time tournament winner CoCo Vandeweghe. The American top seed will play on court 3 around lunch time against her compatriot Alison Riske.

In the gentlemen’s tournament established names such as Fernando Verdasco and Richard Gasquet will be in action later today. Verdasco will meet the talented grass court enthusiast Bernard Tomic and Gasquet, who can be proud of playing the semi-finals twice at Wimbledon, will competed against up-and-coming talent Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece.
