The semifinal in the lower half of the draw will feature a match between two former tournament champions. Alex de Minaur (2024 winner) and Adrian Mannarino (2019 winner) will cross swords on Saturday for a new spot in the final.
De Minaur, seeded second, had little trouble with Benjamin Bonzi in the quarterfinals. The Australian dispatched the French qualifier 6-2, 6-4.
Grass-court enthusiast Mannarino edged past Zhizhen Zhang. The man from Paris defeated China’s number one, who had knocked Tallon Griekspoor out of the tournament the previous round, 7-6(4), 6-3.
In their head-to-head record, De Minaur leads 4-1, but on grass the score is tied 1-1.
