(2023) Alexandrova and Sasnovich reach last four

Last year, Ekaterina Alexandrova showed what she is made of on grass by winning the title at Libéma Open. She is on a roll again this year and is already in the semi-finals, after winning 6-4 6-4 over American qualifier Emina Bektas.

As titleholder and fourth series leader, Alexandrova was favourite in the match on centre court, which will also be the case in the semi-finals. Indeed, in it she will meet Aliaksandra Sasnovich, ranked seventh.

Sasnovich won the first set of her duel with Liudmila Samsonova in the quarterfinals after almost an hour and a half of play via tiebreak, before she saw her opponent give up with a leg injury in the course of the second set: 7-6(4) 3-1.
