Victoria Azarenka will take part in Libéma Open. The former world number one has included the WTA 250 tournament in her schedule.
The 33-year-old Azarenka competed once before in the international grass tournament on the courts of Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch. In 2007, she stranded as a rising star in the opening round.
Two Grand Slam titles are on Azarenka’s record. In 2012 and 2013, she won the Australian Open. In total, she recorded 21 tournament victories.
The current world number 17 reached the final match of the US Open three times. In Paris and London, her best result was the semi-finals. At Wimbledon, she even made it to the last four twice. At the 2012 Olympics, she won a gold medal in the mixed doubles.
Azarenka is the second Grand Slam champion on the women’s singles entry list. US Open winner Bianca Andreescu has confirmed her attendance, as have Belinda Bencic, Elise Mertens and Caty McNally.
