(2023) Van de Zandschulp starts his grass season at Libéma Open

Botic van de Zandschulp has joined Daniil Medvedev and defending champion Tim van Rijthoven on the list of participants.

Van de Zandschulp: ‘I always enjoy coming to ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The tournament has great facilities to start the grass season. Besides, playing in front of the Dutch public is always nice.’

It will be the Dutch number one’s second appearance in the main draw. Last year, he had to bow to strong Finn Emil Ruusuvuori.

The 27-year-old Van de Zandschulp can play well on any surface, including grass. At Wimbledon last year, he reached the last 16 by taking revenge on Ruusuvuori, among others.

In the world rankings, Van de Zandschulp currently occupies 31st place. He achieved his best ranking of 22 in August last year.
