LO 2022: Medvedev provides dream final

Daniil Medvedev reached the final on a summery Saturday night in Rosmalen. Last year’s winner Adrian Mannarino lost 7-5, 7-5 against the man who returns to the world number one spot next Monday.

Although Medvedev won the match without losing a set, as in his previous matches, the reigning US Open champion needed almost two hours to win against the Frenchman.

Both players frequently managed to post service breaks, as Mannarino did when Medvedev served for the win at 5-4 in the second set. Two games later, however, the match had been decided and the Libéma Open 2022 has a dream scenario in the men’s singles final. The stunner Tim van Rijthoven is the opponent of the number one seed in the final.
