LO 2022: Medvedev in the last four

All spots in the semi-finals have been taken after Daniil Medvedev defeated Ilya Ivashka 7-6(8) 6-4 on Friday evening.

The top seed escaped in the first set by surviving two setpoints from his opponent to win a long tiebreak. The second set proved no easy task either, but the reigning US Open champion was on the ball at the important moments.

In the last four a meeting with defending champion Adrian Mannarino awaits. The Frenchman defeated the young American Brandon Nakashima in three sets.

In 2016, the left-handed Mannarino already faced Medvedev on the Brabant grass and managed to book one of his three victories over the current world number one. The last encounter (2019), however, was won by Medvedev.
