LO 2022: Defending champion Mannarino again in last four
10/06/22, 15:42
Adrian Mannarino is still two steps away from title prolongation at the Libéma Open. The Frenchman had a disappointing start in his match against the young American Brandon Nakashima, before he took the win: 6-7(5) 6-1 6-4.
The first set went without service breaks, but by starting sharp in both the second and third set Mannarino made important steps towards his eventual victory over the world’s number 64.
The 33-year-old Mannarino, who celebrates his birthday later this month, won his only ATP title at Libéma Open in 2019. The current number seventy in the ATP rankings is now in his first semi-final of the season.
In order to reach the final again on Brabant grass, the former world number 22 will have to deal with first-seeded Daniil Medvedev or Ilya Ivashka (ATP-49).
