LO 2022: Querrey torments Haase; Nakashima wins in tiebreaks

Sam Querrey has won his third match in a row. The American first fought his way through the qualification tournament and then dealt with Robin Haase with 6-3 6-2. The Dutchman was directly admitted to the main tournament with a wildcard.
In his heyday, the 34-year-old Querrey was 11th on the world rankings. In 2017 he made it to the last four at Wimbledon.
In the second round he will take on his compatriot Brandon Nakashima. The young American defeated another countryman, Tommy Paul, in three tiebreaks.
After three hours and five minutes the final score of 6-7(4) 7-6(5) 7-6(2) was in his favour.
Karen Khachanov also reached the second round. The number five of the ranking was too strong for Alejandro Tabilo with 6-3 6-3. The Polish player Kamil Majchrzak, who defeated Dominik Koepfer, is his opponent.
