Libéma Open 2020 had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic and was postponed to 5-13 June 2021. This week, the week the tournament would have taken place at the beautiful grass courts of the Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch, we look back at some of the players’ greatest, funniest, most emotional and most successful moments during the tournament.
This time former finalist Peter Wessels.
Wessels made his debut on the ATP Tour in ‘s-Hertogenbosch as a teenager in 1996. Eleven editions later he reached the final through the qualification rounds. He did not plan to play, but his teammates persuaded him. Just a few days before the start of the tournament he was still playing on clay. He hastily had to buy proper shoes. Wessels will tell you how it all went and how he experienced the final in this video interview.
