Disappointed Del Potro drops out

A disappointed Juan Martin del Potro has withdrawn from the Ricoh Open. The Argentinean still has problems with a groin injury which he sustained at Roland Garros.
‘I am sad to be missing out on this event. I was really looking forward to play here. Unfortunately I have not fully recovered from my groin strain in Roland Garros and I must listen to my body and not take any further risks. I am sorry and I hope to see you guys next year!’
Del Potro strained his groin in the second round match in Paris against Nicolas Almagro, but saw his Spanish opponent concede the match a few games later, and the competition did not last very long. The former world number four was defeated by Andy Murray in the third round in three sets.
The current world number 30 has had a lot of injuries in his career. Primarily wrist injuries kept the ‘Tower of Tandill’ offside. Now it is an unwilling groin that spoils it for the player.
