Talent Griekspoor receives wildcard

Tallon Griekspoor received a wildcard for the main schedule of the Ricoh Open.

The 20-year-old made his debut at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in February where Gilles Muller from Luxemburg (and 2016 Ricoh Open finalist) was too strong for the Nieuw-Vennep resident in the first round (two sets).

Griekspoor is climbing the world ranking. Last year in June the pupil of former professional Kristof Vliegen was ranked 515 and now Holland’s number two reached number 296.

Robin Haase (ATP-43) is automatically placed for the main schedule based on his ranking. The Dutch number one is accompanied by big names like Marin Cilic (ATP-8), David Goffin (ATP-10), Richard Gasquet (ATP-26), Juan Martin del Potro (ATP-34) and title defender Nicolas Mahut (ATP-48).
