Robin Haase, Indy de Vroome and Richel Hogenkamp were not successful in the doubles at the Ricoh Open. Haase failed together with his Spanish partner Guillermo Garcia Lopez to topple first seeds Nicolas Mahut and Rohan Bopanna who won 6-1, 6-4.
Earlier Haase, who along with Garcia Lopez is a tournament wildcard, lost also the singles match against Gilles Muller (ATP-44). The new world number one doubles player, the Frenchman Mahut, andhis partner from India were never in any danger of being broken.
De Vroome and Hogenkamp had to acknowledge the superiority of the Australian/Thai double Jessica Moore and Varatchaya Wongteanchai: 5-7 6-2 10-5. The Dutch pair had little to say after winning the opening set.
Like Haase, De Vroome and Hogenkamp are out of the singles tournament. Hogenkamp managed to reach the second round, but was defeated despite a match point by Madison Brengle (WTA-68).
