Dutch/Belgian doubles success first match day

The doubles tournament at the Libéma Open is headed by two very strong Dutch/Belgian pairs: top seeds Demi Schuurs and Elise Mertens and second seeded Kiki Bertens and Kirsten Flipkens.

Both doubles started off well in Rosmalen. Schuurs and Mertens defeated the American players Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria  6-3 6-3.

Bertens and Flipkens had more difficulties on their way to victory. The Georgian/German pair Oksana Kalashnikova/Tatjana Maria won the first set before Bertens and Flipkens passed them with a match tiebreak: 4-6 6-1 10-6.
