Middelkoop and Koolhof just beaten in Rosmalen

The Ricoh Open has lasted one match for Matwé Middelkoop and Wesley Koolhof. The third seeds Raven Klaasen from South Africa and Britain’s Dominic Inglot proved to be just too strong in the opening round to win 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.

The public’s favorites were very solid on their own service in the first set, but in the second set the roles were reversed. In the super tiebreak Middelkoop and Koolhof came back from 9-6 to 9-8, but Inglot’s service finished the game of.

It was a disappointing debut for Middelkoop and Koolhof in the doubles competition in Rosmalen. In the next round Klaasen and Inglot will play the winners of the match between Matt Reid/Bernard Tomic and Johan Brunstrom/Andreas Siljestrom.
