Haase meets qualifier at Masters 1000 tournament in Monte-Carlo

Robin Haase had a good draw for the first round of the Masters 1000 tournament in Monte-Carlo. The player from The Hague has recovered from a knee injury and will meet a qualifier.

For the Dutch number one this competition is the opening of the clay season. Haase, who reached the final eight in 2012, will meet with sixth seeded Tomas Berdych in the second round. The Czech received a bye.

The other players in this part of the schedule of play are Andy Murray, Milos Raonic and former winners Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka. Top seed Novak Djokovic and Roger feature in the other alf of the draw.

It will be the second attempt to make a return for the 34-year-old Swiss. Federer had to withdraw from the opening match at the Masters 1000 tournament in Miami due to illness and played in his last match, the semi-final of the Australian Open, at the end of January.
