Australians Ebden and Thompson take doubles title

The men’s doubles title has gone to Matthew Ebden and Jordan Thompson. The Australians were too strong in the final in three sets for Brits Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash: 6-4 3-6 10-7.

‘It was a great week although I had to swallow a sour defeat in the second round of singles. Then it’s good to add doubles to play as many matches on grass as possible. And with my Davis Cup mate Ebden, it’s always enjoyable on court,’ Thompson revealed after the win.

‘Has anyone here won more matches than Jordan?” wondered Ebden aloud. ‘It’s nice to be able to play with an Australian compatriot and Davis Cup teammate on the tour as well. This is a great start to our partnership.’

‘Finally I have the right trophy in my arms after being in the final twice,’ Thompson concluded with a smile.
