Cocciaretto beats Lamens for semi-final spot

Elisabetta Cocciaretto continues to trouble the Dutch this week. The Italian was too strong for Suzan Lamens in the quarterfinals. She reached the last four via 6-2 7-6(4).

In the opening round, the former top-30 player was also too strong for Arianne Hartono.

The 24-year-old Cocciaretto has already won a WTA title once and will face Elena Gabriel-Ruse in the semifinals.

The Romanian qualifier convincingly beat last year’s finalist Bianca Andreescu in the quarterfinals.

The 27-year-old Ruse qualified for the semi-finals 6-2 6-4.
