(2023) Koolhof wins orange-coloured double with British partner

Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski remain in the race for title prolongation. The numbers one on the ranking list were firmly challenged by Dutch duo Matwé Middelkoop and Bart Stevens, though: 4-6 7-6(4) 10-7.

Middelkoop and Stevens were a few points off the win when they took a mini-break lead in the tiebreak of the second set (3-2).
In the decisive matchbreak, Koolhof and his regular British partner ran out to 7-1. Their opponents were able to narrow the gap to 7-6, but it did not come to a surprising result.

Thanks to winning their opening game, Koolhof and Skupski are now in the quarterfinals. There they will meet Americans Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow.
