(2023) Multiple Grand Slam finalist Cilic comes to Libéma Open

Another big name to add to the field of participants at Libéma Open.

Multiple Grand Slam finalist Marin Cilic has joined Daniil Medvedev and Dutchmen Botic van de Zandschulp, Tallon Griekspoor and titleholder Tim van Rijthoven.

Cilic was in the semifinals of Libéma Open in 2017 and then reached the final at Wimbledon. So the former US Open champion can do well on grass. This is also proven by his three tournament victories on this surface; Queens London in 2012 and 2018 and Stuttgart in 2021.

‘I am looking forward to playing again in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and the Dutch fans, where the conditions are always very good for the players. I remember well reaching the semi-finals in 2017. That proved to be good preparation for Wimbledon, where I played the final that year.’

For years, the 34-year-old Croat has been at the top. In 2018, he occupied the third spot in the world rankings. Currently, he can be found in place 23.

Cilic won 20 ATP titles in his career.
