(2023) Grand Slam champion Andreescu makes debut on Brabant grass

Another Grand Slam champion is coming to Libéma Open. After Daniil Medvedev, Bianca Andreescu has also confirmed her arrival.

The 22-year-old Andreescu reached the fourth spot in the world rankings in 2019. In that season, she won three titles including the US Open.

A knee injury kept the Canadian-born player with Romanian roots sidelined for almost a year in 2020. Despite that setback, she finished in the world’s top 50 last year for the fourth year in a row.

This season, Andreescu reached the semi-finals at the WTA tournament in Thailand. It will be the Canadian top player’s first appearance at Libéma Open.

More players will be announced soon. Ekaterina Alexandrova won the women’s singles last year.

Apart from Medvedev, the men’s audience will also be able to see titleholder Tim van Rijthoven in action on the grass courts of Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
