(2023) Medvedev goes for special double strike at Libéma Open

Daniil Medvedev has confirmed his arrival at Libéma Open 2023. Last year’s finalist will try for a special double strike from 10 to 18 June at Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch. ‘I am looking forward to being in ‘s-Hertogenbosch again. It’s a nice start to the grass season and it’s nice tournament to play.’

In tennis history, only one player has managed to win both ABN AMRO Open and Libéma Open in the same year. In 1997, it was Richard Krajicek who achieved this unique feat.

The 27-year-old Medvedev won the title in Rotterdam last week, bringing him back into the global top 10.

The former world number one and Grand Slam champion is facing his fifth participation in Libéma Open. At the last edition, he faced Tim van Rijthoven in the final. The surprising winner from Brabant is also playing at this year’s event, making a repeat of that final battle possible this year.

Medvedev: ‘I love playing in the Netherlands. The spectators know a lot about tennis and are always sporty. Hopefully I can make the final again.’

Libéma Open is a combined ATP/WTA tournament and will be held from Saturday 10 to Sunday 18 June on the grass courts of Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
More players will be announced in the coming period.

Tickets are available at www.eventim.nl, by phone at 0900 – 1353.
