LO 2022: Auger-Aliassime opponent Van Rijthoven in semi-final

Felix Auger-Aliassime will be the next opponent of tournament sensation Tim van Rijthoven. For the champion of the ATP tournament in Rotterdam, the ‘Dutch Double’ in 2022 is another step closer, thanks to a 7-6(5) 6-4 victory over Karen Khachanov.

It did not look good for the top-10 player from Canada in the early stages. Khachanov posted the first break of the match in the quarter-final match, but was broken back to serve for the set at 5-3.

In the second set, Auger-Aliassime needed only a break in the seventh game to make up the difference with the number five on the rankings.

In the semi-final, Auger-Aliassime therefore has the task of stopping the surprising advance of Tim van Rijthoven. The 25-year-old from Brabant recorded his third win of the week, and thus his third ATP victory ever, over Hugo Gaston 7-6(2) 6-4.
