LO 2022: Khachanov after thriller against Auger-Aliassime

The last match on the centre court on Thursday night was won by Karen Khachanov in exhilarating fashion. The number five of the rankings survived a match point against the strong playing Kamil Majchrzak from Poland: 5-7 7-5 7-6(5).

After Khachanov, number 23 of the world, survived the match point at a 5-4 deficit, he struck in the tiebreak on his fourth point of the match. The game took no less than 2 hours and 38 minutes.

In his first appearance in Rosmalen, Khachanov made it to the quarter-finals, where a tough test awaits. In a beautiful setting, the 26-year-old player will take on second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.
