LO 2022: Haase receives wildcard; Cilic and Goffin cancel their participation

Robin Haase has received a wildcard for the main tournament. Marin Cilic and David Goffin have withdrawn.

It will be the 13th participation for Haase. The 35-year old from The Hague played for the first time in 2006. His best result came in 2015 when he made it to the last four. Later tournament winner Nicolas Mahut was too strong in the semifinals.

‘Tennis in Rosmalen is back and I am so happy to be back. Playing in front of my own audience at this unique event remains after all these years just as special. Thanks to the organisation for the trust. I can’t wait and I’m looking forward to some great tennis’, said Haase.

With the arrival of Haase, the main tournament counts five Dutchmen. Botic van de Zandschulp and Tallon Griekspoor came in on their merits. Jesper de Jong and Tim van Rijthoven received a wildcard just like Haase. Gijs Brouwer participates in the qualification tournament.

Marin Cilic has withdrawn from the tournament. The Croat plays the semifinals on Roland Garros on Friday. David Goffin also had to cancel. The Belgian is injured.
