Schoofs and Neel take doubles title

Bibiane Schoofs teamed up with Ingrid Neel to take the doubles title at Libéma Open. The Dutch/Estonian duo was too strong in the final 7-6(6) 6-3 for Tereza Mihalikova and Olivia Nicholls.

It was only the first time Schoofs and Neel played together, but it yielded instant success. The occasional pair did not lose a single set all week.

The 36-year-old Schoofs is the fifth Dutch winner in the doubles. Brenda Schultz (1996), Miriam Oremans (1998), Michaëlla Krajicek (2008) and Demi Schuurs (2018) preceded her.
