(2023) Medvedev leads strong line-up; comeback Wimbledon finalist Raonic
16/05/23, 12:02The men’s singles line-up at Libéma Open is largely known.
The list includes no fewer than four players from the top 20 and several Grand Slam champions. Daniil Medvedev is the highest ranked player. Together with Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP-10), the world number three is among the top 10 players in the world rankings. Shortly behind are Borna Coric (ATP-16) and Alex de Minaur (ATP-18).
Marin Cilic (ATP-23) and Medvedev are both US Open champions. Milos Raonic is using his protected ranking of 33 to compete. The 2016 Wimbledon finalist is planning his comeback on the ATP Tour.
Pablo Carreno Busta (ATP-21), Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP-25) and Botic van de Zandschulp (ATP-30) are the other players from the top 30.
Tallon Griekspoor (ATP-36) is the second Dutchman on the list, where public player Alexander Bublik (ATP-49) and former winner Adrian Mannarino (ATP-45) certainly cannot be left unmentioned either. The last player directly admitted on the basis of ranking is Mikael Ymer (ATP-52). Defending champion Tim van Rijthoven (ATP-154) is competing with a wildcard.
The organisation has two more wildcards to give away. Four qualifiers and two Special Exempts will complete the schedule.
