Strong start for Goffin

David Goffin made a perfect start at the Libéma Open 2019. The Belgian thrashed the 20 year old Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on centre court: 6-0 6-2.

Goffin reached the final in Rosmalen before and it looks he is in top shape. The fifth seed is currently the world’s number 33, he dropped a few places due to injuries. In previous years he had a solid position in the top 10.

His next opponent will be the 28 year old Australian Matthew Ebden or the French service volley expert Pierre Hugues Herbert.

Andreas Seppi reached the second round by defeating lucky loser Thomas Fabbiano in two exciting sets: 7-6 7-5. His next opponents will be third seed Alex de Minaur who received a bye in the first round.
