French final after victory Chardy
16/06/18, 22:54The Libém Open 2018 will have French gentlemen final. Jeremy Chardy defeated Matthew Ebden in the semi-final, 6-4 7-5 and will compete for the title with his friend and compatriot Richard Gasquet.
Chardy is doing well on grass. The week before the start of the Libéma Open the 31-year-old hardhitter won the Challenger tournament in Surbiton (London) and has started his string of impressive victories.
The world’s number 72 has never lost to Ebden and won all four matches against the 30-year-old Australian. Chardy does not have the same positive standing in individual meetings with Gasquet, 1-4. His only victory was earlier this year on the hardcourt of Miami.
The final match in Rosmalen is the first meeting between Chardy and Gasquet on grass. The latter second seed has already won 15 ATP titles. Chardy is hoping for his second victory on the highest level.
The gentlemen’s final will not start before 2.30 pm after the ladies final between Aleksandra Krunic and Kirsten Flipkens which starts at noon.
