Vandeweghe struggles past Rus

CoCo Vandeweghe will play in the quarter-finals for the fourth time at the Libéma Open. The two-time champion defeated Arantxa Rus on centre court, 7-6(4) 6-3.

The American was very unlucky last year in Rosmalen when she was defeated in the first round. Rus did manage to beat Vandeweghe in the qualifications at the Libéma Open in 2011.

The top seed will meet her compatriot Alison Riske or the Hungarian young talent Fanny Stollar in her hunt for a third title win on the Brabant grass.
