Verdasco too strong for Dimitrov in his 350th match on gravel

Fernando Verdasco had a straight sets victory at Roland Garros against Grigor Dimitrov. The Spaniard was with 7-6(4) 6-2 6-4 too strong for the fourth seed

It will be Verdasco’s, seeded 30^th in Paris, seventh time in the round of 16 of the Grand Slam tournament in the French capital. Verdasco cleared four set points in the first set at 3-1 to win in the tiebreak.

In the second set, the 34-year-old Spanish player accelerated at 2-2 and won seven games in a row: 6-2 3-0. This margin was enough to also win the third set.

Verdasco will meet Novak Djokovic or compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut in the round of 16.
