Cibulkova and Flipkens take ladies doubles title

Dominika Cibulkova and Kirsten Flipkens have won the ladies doubles title at the Ricoh Open. In the final match the unseeded duo were just too strong for Kiki Bertens and Demi Schuurs, defeating them with 4-6 6-4 10-6.

The Dutch duo was second seed on the Brabant grass and took the opening set. In a close second set the games were decided at 4-4 and 5-4 with the ‘deciding point system’. Both points were won by the Slovakian/Belgian duo.

In the match tiebreak which would decide who would finish this Ricoh Open week with a victory, Cibulkova and Flipkens immediately took an ample advantage. Bertens and Schuurs came back from 9-4 to 9-6, but a deep return by Schuurs gave the victory to Cibulkova and Flipkens.
