Mladenovic beaten by Tsurenko

In 2016 she was a finalist, but this year second seed Kristina Mladenovic did not come any further than the quarter finals of the Ricoh Open. It was the second time this year that the Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko (seventh seed, WTA-37) was too strong for the world’s number 13 with 6-3 6-1.

Mladenovic was also defeated by 28-year-old Tsurenko during the final of the WTA tournament in Acapulco. It is Tsurenko’s fourth appearance of her career in Rosmalen. In 2013 she reached the quarter finals as a qualifier.

This year Tsurenko she reached the semi final where she will meet the winner of the match between Anett Kontaveit (WTA-49) en Carina Witthoeft (WTA-66).
