Strong opening for Mladenovic

Kristina Mladenovic (WTA-13) has reached the second round in Rosmalen by beating Risa Ozaki (WTA-73) with 7-5 6-1.

France’s number one player is second seed at the Ricoh Open and is defending her place in last year’s final. She will meet Aliaksandra Sasnovich (WTA-90) in the next match. The player from Belarus was too strong for the 18-year-old wildcard player Anna Kalinskaya (WTA-127) from Russia with 6-3 6-4.

Fifth seeded Ana Konjuh (WTA-33) has also reached the second round. The 19-year-old talent from Croatia outsmarted the German qualifier Tamara Korpatsch (WTA-125): 6-4 6-4.

Konjuh will compete for a place in the quarter finals with Richel Hogenkamp, who defeated Mandy Minella (WTA-82): 6-3 6-3.
