Bertens defeated in singles match Ricoh Open

Kiki Bertens can fully concentrate on the doubles tournament in Rosmalen. Holland’s number one was eliminated in the first round of the singles tournament by former top 10 player Andrea Petkovic (WTA-84): 7-6(6) 2-6 6-2.

Interesting was the fact that Petkovic had a disadvantage in the first set, 4-0, but she was able to turn the tide. The German player cashed in her fourth set point in the tiebreak against the 2015 semifinalist.

After a comeback in the second set, Bertens lost the last four games in a row in the third set at 2-2.

Bertens reached the quarter finals in the doubles as second seed with compatriot Demi Schuurs.
