Pospisil one size too big for young Griekspoor
12/06/17, 19:17Tallon Griekspoor (ATP-282) did not succeed to pull off a stunt at the Ricoh Open. Holland’s number two was defeated in the first round by Canadian Vasek Pospisil (ATP-83): 7-5 6-1.
The 20-year-old Griekspoor competed with a wildcard on the centre court in Rosmalen. Opponent Pospisil, Wimbledon doubles champion in 2014, is a good grass court player and he used his experience against the young home favorite.
In the second round the 26-year-old Pospisil will compete against the winner of the match between fifth seed Steve Darcis (ATP-56) from Belgium and the Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov (ATP-81).
Andreas Seppi (ATP-76) was able to shake off Japanese qualifier Tatsuma Ito (ATP-174) in his first round match. The Italian needed three sets: 6-3 3-6 6-3. Gilles Muller (ATP-28), last year’s finalist in Rosmalen, will be Seppi’s next opponent. The Luxemburger is fourth seeded.
