Dutch doubles receive wildcard
08/06/17, 08:21The Dutch pairs Arantxa Rus/Richel Hogenkamp and Tallon Griekspoor/David Pel received a wildcard for the doubles main schedule at the Ricoh Open. Earlier the Belgian/Dutch pair Elise Mertens/Eva Waccano also received a wildcard.
Hogenkamp and Griekspoor already received a wild card at an earlier stage for the singles main schedule. In addition wildcards for the main schedule were given to the top 10 players Agnieszka Radwanska and Alexander Zverev. The young American Stefan Kozlov (ATP-144) also received an invitation for the ATP 250 tournament.
Wildcards for the WTA tournament qualifications were allocated to Arantxa Rus (WTA-207), Erika Vogelsang (WTA-767), Kelly Versteeg (WTA-773) and Merel Hoedt (National Youth Champion). In the men’s tournament Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP-205) from Greece and Australia’s Max Purcell (ATP-295) will play the qualifications.
The qualifications will be held on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June on the grass court of the Autotron. The main event will start on Monday 12 June. The doubles’ final is planned for Saturday 17 June. One day later the singles’ finals of the WTA and ATP tournament will be played.
