31/05/17, 11:06

Richel Hogenkamp received a wildcard for the Ricoh Open main schedule.

The 25-year-old Hogenkamp is in good form. After winning the $60.000 tournament of Tunis, the Dutch number two successfully played the qualification tournament of Roland Garros.

Debutant Hogenkamp was victorious in her match against the former world number one Jelena Jankovic in the main schedule of the French Grand Slam tournament. Wednesday the player from Doetinchem will face Belgium’s Elise Mertens in the second round at Roland Garros.

Currently Hogenkamp takes position 105 on the world ranking, but, for the first time in her career, she will jump into the top 100 after a good result in Paris. Last year Hogenkamp reached the second round at the Ricoh Open. American Madison Brengle proved to be too strong in an exciting match.

In addition wildcards for the main schedule are awarded to Agnieszka Radwanska (WTA-10), Dutch talent Tallon Griekspoor (ATP-294) and the 19-year-old American Stefan Kozlov (ATP-144). For the women’s doubles tournament the Belgian/Dutch pair Elise Mertens/Eva Waccano received a wildcard.

Wildcards for the women’s qualification tournament are for the Dutch players Erika Vogelsang (WTA-767), Kelly Versteeg (WTA-773) and Merel Hoedt (National Youth Champion). Max Purcell (ATP-295) from Australia receives a ticket for the men’s qualification tournament.

The line-up for the women’s main schedule includes Kristina Mladenovic (WTA-14), title defender CoCo Vandeweghe (WTA-20) and Holland’s number one Kiki Bertens (WTA-18).

Robin Haase (ATP-46) is automatically placed for the main schedule based on his ranking. The Dutch number one is joined by big names like Marin Cilic (ATP-8), David Goffin (ATP-12), Richard Gasquet (ATP-25), Juan Martin del Potro (ATP-30) and title defender Nicolas Mahut (ATP-48).
