World class player Radwanska at Ricoh Open
18/05/17, 20:34 | More on: Agnieszka RadwanskaThe Ricoh Open has attracted another world class player. Agnieszka Radwanska, the current world’s number nine, will come to Rosmalen.
Radwanska has been in the top 10 of the WTA-ranking for many years. The 28-year-old player from Poland has won 20 titles in her career so far, including the WTA Finals in 2015.
Radwanska’s nickname is La Profesora because the 2012 Wimbledon finalist is not relying on powerful strokes on the court, but on her ingenuity and precision.
Tournament director Marcel Hunze: ‘Radwanska has been voted the WTA Tour’s Fan Favorite by the public in the last six years. This means that spectators really appreciate her personality and play. I am very pleased that we succeeded in attracting her for the Ricoh Open this year.”
The former world’s number two prefers to play on grass and is the top favorite for the title in Rosmalen. But with Kristina Mladenovic (WTA-14), who is in real good form, title defender CoCo Vandeweghe (WTA-19), national number one Kiki Bertens (WTA-20), and upcoming talents Anja Konjuh (WTA-28) and Jelena Ostapenko (WTA-50) it promises to become a great battle for the title.
