Number two on the ranking list Ugo Humbert has made it to the last eight at Libéma Open for the second year in a row. Qualifier Daniel Evans was outsmarted 7-5 6-3 on court 1.
In 2024, the top French player, currently number 20 in the world, advanced to the semi-finals. To repeat that feat, the 26-year-old left-hander will have to face seventh-ranked Nuno Borges. The Portuguese number one got a walkover from Otto Virtanen.
Reilly Opelka may also call himself a quarter-finalist. In a duel of tree-length service cannons, the American lucky loser proved too strong for Chilean Nicolas Jarry: 7-6(5 6-3.
Opelka already knocked Jesper de Jong in the first round and to further extend his stay on the Brabant grass he will have to serve his way past top seed Daniil Medvedev or former champion Adrian Mannarino.
