Suzan Lamens received a wildcard for Libéma Open.
Lamens is having an excellent season. In March she won a major ITF tournament in Trvana and in April she guided the TeamNL Billie Jean King Cup team through the group phase of the country tournament unbeaten.
Last month, she won her first WTA tournament. In Oeiras, Portugal, she was the best at the WTA 125 tournament.
The 24-year-old Lamens will – after her debut in 2022 – be in action for the second time at the only WTA tournament in the Netherlands.
Lamens’ teammates Anouk Koevermans and Eva Vedder have received a wildcard for the qualifying tournament.
Demi Schuurs completes the participation of the entire Billie Jean King Cup team. The Limburg doubles specialist will form a duo with Jessica Pegula.
The American top player in both singles and doubles was the global number one in the doubles last year. On the singles ranking list, Pegula is number five and for now the highest ranked player in the singles.
Other well-known names in the women’s singles include Arantxa Rus, four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, two-time winner Ekaterina Alexandrova, Grand Slam champion Bianca Andreescu and Belgian crowd favourite Elise Mertens.
