(2023) Williams stays for training: ‘It’s beautiful here’

Venus Williams may have lost her debut match at Libéma Open, but the seven-time Grand Glam champion can still be admired on the training courts.

Not entirely surprising, given the warm welcome she has received in the Netherlands in general and ‘s-Hertogenbosch in particular.

‘It is beautiful and fun here. Both in the country and in the city. The people are fantastic. I have had the best experiences. I wish I had not waited so long to come here,’ said the former world number one, who was supported by sister Serena Williams during her match against Celine Naef.
