Kiki Bertens has managed to reach her first Libéma Open final. The top seed defeated the Kazakh qualifier Elena Rybina in the semi-final with 6-4 6-4.
The duel started later than planned due to the rain and at the end of the first set there was another interval caused by a rain shower. When the match was continued Bertens was able to turn her break advantage into a win and she repeated that at the beginning of the second set against her 19 year old opponent, who played impressively all week.
Bertens will meet the American Alison Riske, who defeated Russian Veronika Kudermetova in an exciting three sets. Bertens en Riske met three times before and all three were won by Holland’s number one.
