Paula Badosa has received a wildcard for the Libéma Open. The Spanish top player joins a strong field at the WTA 250 tournament.

The 28-year-old Badosa reached second place on the world rankings in 2022. Last year, she managed to reach the semifinals at the Australian Open.

The New York-born player has four WTA titles to her credit. Her biggest victory came in Indian Wells, where she won the WTA 1000 tournament in 2021.

This is the second time Badosa is coming to the Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch. In 2019, she made her debut on the Brabant grass courts.

“I am grateful and enthusiastic that I have been awarded a wildcard for the Libéma Open. I am happy that I can return after a period of absence. I look forward to playing for the Dutch fans.”

The strong field at the WTA 250 tournament includes, besides Badosa, two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova, two-time Libéma Open winner Ekaterina Alexandrova, defending champion Elise Mertens, Dutch number one Suzan Lamens, top 20 player Clara Tauson, and former number eight Emma Navarro.
