Bencic plays in Rosmalen

Belinda Bencic will play at the Libéma Open 2019 from 10 til 16 June. The world’s number 20 will join, among others, Kiki Bertens and Elise Mertens at Holland’s sole WTA tournament.

The 22 year old Swiss has made her comeback this season after a long period of injuries. This year the world’s former number seven won, together with her illustrious compatriot Roger Federer, the Hopman Cup and won the title at the WTA Premier 5 tournament in Dubai by defeating four top ten players. She reached the semi-finals at the big WTA tournament of Indian Wells and defeated the world’s number one, Naomi Osaka.

Bencic will take part in the Libéma Open for the fourth time. She started playing tennis at the tennis facility of Melanie Molitor, the mother of Martina Hingis. Her best result at the grass courts of the Autotron was a place in the final in 2015 when she was defeated by Camila Giorgi.
