28/03/19, 16:54 | More on:

David Goffin comes to the Libéma Open. The 28-year-old Belgian player will compete at the grass tournament in Rosmalen for the fourth time.

Goffin belonged to the world’s top ten in 2017, when he was ranked seventh. Due to some injuries he dropped in the rankings, but this year he is back on track. The renewed cooperation with the Swedish ex-tennis player Thomas Johansson as his coach Goffin is aiming to getting closer to the top ten again.

Goffin, who was born in Rocourt, reached the final during his last appearance at the ATP 250 tournament on the grass courts of the Autrotron. Grass court specialist Nicolas Mahut defeated him in that final. In 2012 and 2013 Goffin’s aspirations were stopped in the first round.

Goffin has won four ATP titles during his career. He finished runner-up seven times, among others during the ATP World Tour Finales in 2017.

Robin Haase and Stefanos Tsitsipas have already confirmed their participation for the Libéma Open. Kiki Bertens and Elise Mertens will play in the ladies tournament.

Libéma Open will be staged from Monday 10 till Sunday 16 June on the grass courts at the Autotron in Rosmalen. Richard Gasquet and Aleksandra Krunic are the title defenders in the singles tournament.
