Lottner surprises also in 2018 in Rosmalen

Antonia Lottner is experiencing another special edition of the Libéma Open in 2018. Just like last year the German surprised coming from the qualifications to the main event, today she defeated second seed Elise Mertens, 7-5 6-3.

Thanks to this result the 21-year-old German will play in the quarter-finals, which she will also play on Friday. Viktoria Kuzmova from Slovakia will be her next opponent.

Following a successful qualification campaign, Lottner had her first victory ever at the WTA tour in Rosmalen by defeating the then number six of the world, Dominika Cibulkova.

Lottner will play in the quarter-finals of a WTA tournament for the second time.
