Sijsling receives wildcard for Ricoh Open

Robin Haase and Kiki Bertens will have Dutch company during the main tournament of the Ricoh Open in Rosmalen (6-12 June) after Igor Sijsling was given a wildcard from the tournament organisation.

The player from Amsterdam competed for the last time on the Brabant grass in 2014 and achieved his best result in 2012 when the former world’s number 52 made it into the quarter-finals.

This year the 28-year-old reached the second round at Roland Garros, where he was defeated by Australian talent Nick Kyrgios. The clay season is therefore finished for Sijsling.

This week the world’s number 123 will come into action on grass at the challenger tournament in Manchester (€42.500). There he will meet Mischa Zverev (ATP-136), the older brother of young talent Alexander Zverev (ATP-41), who will also be present at the Ricoh Open.
