Libéma Open chooses for Sustainability!
Welcome to the Libéma Open grass court championships. The top tennis tournament of the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch; part of the ATP and WTA World Tour and one of the important lead-up tournaments to Wimbledon.
Top tennis, entertainment, a great atmosphere, culinary delights and shopping are the central features of the Libéma Open. The Autotron has been the trusted home base for many tennis fans and business relations to enjoy top sport in an attractive setting for over 25 years.
Climate change, reduction of CO2 emission, ‘thinking and act green’ and sustainability are now, and in the coming years, important topics in the world we live in. Libéma Open takes its responsibility.
We will focus, from the 2019 edition onwards, on making the Libéma Open more sustainable. First step will be to obtain the international Green Key -MVO- certificate and to survey our energy consumption and waste of 2018. The final goal is to become a 100% climate-neutral tournament and to become the ‘greenest show on the tour’!
In addition we want to make a social contribution by working together with the foundation “Doe een wens” (Make a Wish) and we have a partnership with the KNLTB to stimulate G-tennis and wheelchair tennis.
That is the story we are going to tell and that is what we are going to do. There is no better place to do that than on the green grass of the Autotron in Rosmalen. “It will not get any greener”. That is the promise we make.
