LO 2022: Van de Zandschulp set to make debut

Botic van de Zandschulp will make his debut in the main tournament of the Libéma Open this year. The Dutch number one can be admired from June 4-12 on the grass courts of Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

The 26-year-old Van de Zandschulp is going through a stormy development. After his quarterfinal at the US Open, he entered the top100. Since then his ranking has continued to rise and, partly due to his first final at the ATP tournament in Munich, he currently occupies the 31st position of the world rankings.

‘As professional tennis players, we spend a lot of time abroad. I therefore look forward to playing in The Netherlands in front of my own audience. The Libéma Open has always appealed to me enormously’, said Van de Zandschulp.

In 2018, Van de Zandschulp played one qualifying match on the Brabant grass courts. Nevertheless, the Veendaler has proven to be able to play well on this surface. Last year he managed to beat his opponent Matteo Berrettini in the second round of the Wimbledon qualification tournament.

Besides Van de Zandschulp, Daniil Medvedev and David Goffin will also make an appearance. The further participants of the ATP 250 tournament will be announced at a later stage.
